40k maintenance?

I have a mouse under my hood, can't tell where it's coming from exactly but it's near the front of the engine bay. I don't think it's the S/C because the squeaking is more prominent at idle and I think can be heard separate from the whine. My hands are too big and there's not enough room in there to check the integrity of the belt. I don't feel like removing the bumper just for that.

Anyway, car's just over 40k and also has some lifter chatter. Oil's about due for a change so that might quiet 'em down.

What's the life expectancy on the plugs and wires? I might pull and clean them tomorrow just for something to do.

Wires are generally good for life unless environmental damage or very high KMs... Plus are factory recommended from 160,000km but the dealer usually recommends anywhere from 80 to 160k

sometimes belt tensioners make noise or a worn belt... or a combination of both. if the lifters are loud... CHANGE THE OIL !
