Mood lighting out of sync

At the ends of the color range (i.e. blue and orange) all the mood lights are the same color, but if I start from blue and flick the switch once, the doors and pillars change to purple (as expected) but the overhead changes to pink. The colors are out of sync for each additional flick as well until it gets to orange (same behavior when coming back to blue).
The service department has ordered some part but they are skeptical it will fix the issue and say that after checking a couple more MINIs on the lot, some of them exhibit a similar behavior.

Does anyone else have mood lights that are not the same color in all the various locations? Or have even heard of this issue before?

Mine does the same thing. There are two LED's in each module. An orange one and a blue one. The colors change due to the intensity of blue and orange combined and unfortunately don't always match up with the other LED modules. I keep mine on orange or blue only so it doesn't bother me. Let us know how the repair (if it works) goes.

Thanks for that info. Since the 2 overheads lights are the same color (and both are out of sync with the rest), I'm guessing they are fed with the same wiring (don't know if in series or parallel though) and getting the same improper voltage/current to cause the color to be off. Not sure any of that is relevant to them fixing it, but who knows, it may help.

Mine exhibit the same phenomenon. I assumed it was due to differences in the LED bulbs that are used. I tend to keep it on blue or orange, not only because the colors match, but because when I move my eyes I can see the colors separate and it can be slightly annoying.

This is a rather common problem that many people see.

The real fact is that the LEDs shining on the door panels look a different color due the color of the panel itself.

I have taken a white piece of paper and had the LEDS shine directly on it. You will then notice that the colors are a lot closer than what they look like when shining on the door panel and or pillar cover.

quite frankly, and no intentions to dismiss the OPs issue, but whacky mood lighting is the least of my concerns with this car.

Well let's hope I don't have any of your issues then. Currently, the dealer is repainting the roof due to a small nick that was there at time of purchase and trying to fix the mood lighting. Everything else is peachy.
