I am having a problem with my driver side window. I have searched and found examples of the problem I am having. My window is stuck in the up position and binds if I try to lower it. From everything I have read it looks to be the window regulator that is casing the problem but I have not had the door panel off yet to look at it. But since it dose move a little I don't think it is the motor or at least not the problem that can be fixed by hitting the door, but I tried it anyway.

I was wondering if there was a mechanic in the Northern Virgina area that has done this before. I have a quote from the MINI dealer of about $800 to replace the window regulator and the motor that is including parts. I was hoping to find some one that could do it for less. I can order the parts for ~$250. I am just not confadent that I could do the work properly myself.
