Have a 2010 JCW WC50 after about 1000 miles I get a very ticking noise, seems to be from right(passenger) side of engine. I hear it when it reflects off a fence etc driving or at rest. Loudest above 2000 rpm, louder when cold but still there after warm up. Noise is RPM dependent, ie. higher rpm higher rate of ticking. Sounds similar to injector tick but 2-300% louder. Could it be a lifter? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

 

Installed a NM engine torque arm insert today and not difference. Any thoughts?

 

Is it noticeable only for awhile after starting the engine or does it continue even 5 minutes after starting? Just thinking it may be the timing chain tensioner.

 

It is continuous, louder when cold but still there all the time. I think some of the "heat shield" vibration noise is actually resonance of the exhaust system. The other noise is coming from lower right side( passenger side) of the engine. The pitch of the noise sounds too high to be the timing chain, as I had an 09 JCW with that noise and the two are different.
