When I am driving, the MPG numbers constantly changes(every milli second) from 99.9 MPG to 34.9MPG to 16.9MPG to all different numbers. When the careis in complete stop, no number appears next to "MPG" but only straight broken lines " -----MPG". This has never happened before except for today.

Why does it do this? Should I bring car in ? Or is it a quick fix? I still have warranty on my 2009 car.

 

Really? You have it on the continuous MPG setting instead of the average. Just push the button til you get to where it says average or remains consistent.

 

Check out your driver's manual. You're on the "instant" MPG reading, and the one you want is one button press before that. I'm guessing you accidentaly pressed the left stalk button one time to get your current display. If you've never done it, you should cycle through those displays, because most people find the MPH setting the most useful.

 

This is normal. This is continuous mileage per gallon... press on the gas and it drops and take your foot off the pedal and it will go upto 99.9 and everything in between. When the car comes to a stop and is idling... it shows the "straight broken lines"...
