a/c issue and no low speed fan

Ok, I've got a 2004 MCS and had the fan finally go out the other day. Upon inspection the loom just above the fan wasn't secured properly and began rubbing on the fan blade throwing it off center until it began rubbing into the shroud. apparently this had been going for a while as the fan finally free spun on the motor and would no longer spin. I found this out when the a/c quit working, the car has never gotten hot. i bought a complete replacement fan + shroud and put it in. Problem now is that there is no voltage at the compressor with the a/c on and there is no voltage at the plug going to the fan shroud for the low speed fan. High speed show 14v at 203deg. checked the fuses in the engine bay and the interior, swapped out the relays. they are all good. How do I check the pressure switch? Where does the power for the low speed fan come from? I'm about ready to take it in. Anyone have any ideas while the front end is still apart.

I hope this may benefit someone else. The failure of the engine fan caused increased temperature and pressure on the AC resulting in complete freon loss. Without the proper charge the system would not allow the compressor to operate. A system test with dye revealed no leaks at normal pressure. System was evacuated and recharged and once again everything is COOL. The new Doorman aftermarket fan assembly had an extra electrical connector that did not match my wiring harness but the fan is operating properly with only the matching harness plug connected. Make sure the wiring is secured properly away from the fan blades as this was the cause of the initial fan failure and subsequent problems. Cost: fan assembly $185, AC service $127.50

man... i sure hope the same thing is wrong with mine...
My low speed fan is out and the compressor does not come on.

I am going to DIY replace the resistor and I was going to look into replacing the compressor, but now I do believe that i will test the system for leaks then try to refill it.

From what I read, you said the compressor will not engage if there is low or no freon in the system? And because of the low speed fan not working, the pressure in the system caused it to "evac" its self? I know what you wrote is pretty self explanatory, but I am really hoping that this is what you were saying as I do not want to spend a heap of money on compressors n junk.
