Hey guys,

My 2004 cooper has started making a weird robotic whining kind of noise when i turn my steering wheel and its driving me nuts..... I'm sure it has something to do with the power steering system but not exactly sure what it could be..... I took it to my mechanic so he can take a look at it and he wasnt able to find anything

If you guys have any info that would be great!!

It's normal for it to be loud, it is an electric pump. But if it has gotten louder than usual, there might be something wrong. First two things I'd think, check fluid level, and check the the Fan to make sure that it spins easily.

More than likely though, theres nothing wrong, you just didn't pay attention to it before.
