Nock type noise from rear when turning off

I have a 2008 Mini Cooper S and have noticed that sometimes when I turn the engine off I hear like a low wirring and nocking coming from the rear of the car. Goes for about a minute nocks go quicker and stops. What could this be? Is it normal?

Here is a link of the audio I posted in another forum. Sorry for the bad quality.

normal "farts". something to do with gas venting. anyway, there are several other flatulence support threads regarding this phenomenon.

It's normal. I hear it on my Clubman every once in while when I shut off the car and even sometimes at a stop light.

I thought this post looked familiar. Same answer now that I've heard the sound - It's the fuel tank.
