Does anyone know the name of this part?
I had to pull the oil filter housing to replace gaskets and this part was broken off. Its a spring loaded plastic piece that sits inside the oil filter area. Does anyone know the name of it and what it does? Thanx

That's the oil bypass. You'll need a new filter housing if you want to replace it, which you need to do.

It actually looks like the oil filter will be holding this in place. So I may be alright.
