My AC compressor bracket broke, while i was driving back to Indy from Chicago. The belt on the compressor got loosen and came off as the result of the breakage. Soon enough the battery went dead, not a situation you want to be in while driving on the Highway. I called mini emergency service, after about 30 mins wait, someone answered and got me the tow truck that came an hour later. I had to get the rental car and wait until Monday to hear Illinois Mini Dealer Diagnosis that they Think my Alta Crank Pully put more stress on the belt that cause the bracket to fail. Therefore, I have to PAID. I dont know what kind of training they have but this sound like BS to me... and the service is horrible, because the service adviser dosent know what he talking about, never return my call... If you have similar problem and your dealer replace it under warranty please let me know.

 

The pulley change gave them a legitimate out, imo. They didn't even have to use the bad gas excuse...
