nav staying on, draining battery

although i am having a swirl of electrical problems, this one stumps me.
My navigation dvd map drive stays on, never shuts down or stops spinning.
i am constantly having to jump my mini and its getting quite annoying.
i know that this thing never shuts off because of 2 tests ive done.
1. sitting in the rear seat with the front passenger seat forward and the dvd drive door open. Locked the doors and sat still for about 20mins, never shut off. every min or so the thing would start spinning again. the Red L.e.d. never shut off
2. left the seat forward and the dvd drive door open so that i could see the drive from outside the windows and went out the next morning to see that little red l.e.d. still glowing. and what do you know... an almost dead battery.

i took the fuse out today to see if the battery will be dead tomorrow, lets just hope it isnt anything worse.

Anyone else have this issue? or any idea how to fix? input? ANYTHING?

battery is tested good. btw

Have you ever replaced your battery? The body computer tends to do bizarre things when it sees low voltage. 'good' may not be 'good' if the voltage fluctuates.

i did replace the battery about 8 months ago. ive had this problem for just a little longer than that. never messed with it though because i had a family member take care of it for the last 7 months. i was deployed and i had a family member start and run it around every week. while they had it sittin i had them take a terminal off to stop the draining.. now i am just trying to get this thing fixed. a dealer is 3 hours away from me so its a bit tough to plan that sort of trip

i will take it back and get it fully checked and charged up.. maybe ill even buy a second if necessary, an extra never hurts.

Might be worth a trip to the dealer to uprev the firmware, or even do it yourself - see the stickies at the top of the Nav forum.

But it might not be the drive it might be one of the ECUs. I looked into it quickly and I THINK that it is NOT the BC1 ECU, it's a separate one entirely. It might be that ECU that's causing the issue.
