Clear Bra Issues

Hey Guys,
I have had my 2009 cooper for almost a year and a half (I was first or second production week). The clear bra has been on since before I took delivery, and I'm starting to see it peel up around the edges. Is this to be expected, or does it warrant a replacement for fix?

Thanks!
Tyler

I'd say it definitely warrants a fix!!

Molly's had her Clear Bra on since Delivery (Apr 08) and no issues like that so far, it is yellowing a bit, but I can live with that. Maybe think about getting it replaced once I get close to 5/50,000.

RJ.
Thanks for your response! I didn't think anything like this should be happening so soon. The only time it goes through an automatic car wash is when it is at the dealer, any other time, it's hand-wash only. Gah! Let's see how cooperative the dealership is...

I expect to see it a bit, especially on a Pepper White, but these edges lifting up are a little hard to take because no matter how clean I get my car, it still looks dirty because of all the edges.

i had mine done aftermarket by the same company that does the clear bra installs for the San Francisco MINI dealer (and saved about $400). Going on 2years and no issues w/ peeling or yellowing.

I had mine installed from P&W Mini in Pittsburgh, so I'm assuming they out-sourced it. I shall call tomorrow and see what can be done. Thanks, Eric.

Thanks Mangler,
I'm glad we both have good taste in color schemes!

I had mine installed 6 months ago and have the same issues. The clearmask needs to be trimmed back in those areas. A real pro with a sharp knife will work wonders. A hack with a dull knife will cut the paint.

This is a perfect example of why I don't put ClearBra on my cars anymore. I'd rather touch up the paint down the road than have to cover my car in plastic film AND still have to deal with flaws. Just sayin'

Yeah, Scott. It sounds good in theory, but in practice it's a little bit of a pain. Oh well. I'll call the dealer and see what's up.
