I have an early build 03 with a bad blower fan, and wanted to ask if you guys who tore it apart know if your blower was the two pole or 3 pole unit?

Also, regarding resistors blowing out, I had this happen on a VW Golf, blower seemed to work fine, but would blow out resistors once every while. Then would blow fuses.

I kept replacing fuses and resistors until one day the blower didn't spin and blew the fuse right when I turned it on.

Turns out, blower motor was already on the way to seizing, because of all the gunk that got stuck in the fan bearing. When I pulled it out, the fan would not turn at all. New one spins easily with a push of a finger.

So probably high load on the fan causing our resistors to go out early. So be prepared for the fan replacement! What a bad design on these old Minis...

Can't find a blower for sale

I need to replace the 3pin blower in my 2002 Mini-S. Can't find a new one anywhere in the US. Called Mini, called suppliers. Does anyone know of an aftermarket part number or supplier that has these? Mini says part is discontinued and new part will not be available until September.

HELP..........

Anyone ever experience this issue?

When the ambient temperature is cold or cool, the climate control works great, blower blows strong at all speeds, a/c works, heat works.

However if it gets hot outside, then nothing works. The climate control display shows every function when adjusting temp or fan speed, but no air comes out from the blower.

We've tried switching climate control panels but same issue.

Ours is a 2003 Mini Cooper base, and this year there is no blower resistor.

2002 mini cooper s r53 Ihka auto climate has an expensive blower motor. This is the 3 pin motor. The system has no replaceable external resistor. All locations for a resistor assembly have blank plates covering the holes.
