HELP!!!!!!!!!!

2005 mini copper s wife was driving and said it felt like the car lost power and the check engine light came on she continued to drive and when she said when she would accelrate it would sputter and then when she came off the gas it would accelrate again it sounds like the car is running lean in the bank anyone else had a similar problem with the car trying too get a solution asap before i deploy to afghanstain without having to deal with the stealership any comments or suggestions or past expernices would be great thanx

Perhaps one of the mods can move this over into a 1st Gen forum where it might elicit a response.

I knew a girl in high school who talked like your post. Never bothered to stop and take a breath. She was equally hard to follow...

ase excuse the snide remarks . take car to auto zone or equivelent and get it scanned for codes . then let us know .

Sounds like it went into limp mode. Possible overboost or fuel related problem. Once you shut the car down and restart it, it comes out of limp mode it'll drive normal and you can see if it does it again. Go ahead and have the ODB II read to see if there are any codes stored. If your CEL didn't light up, it's probably nothing serious.
