I use it for my Garmin GPS, You can also use it for your MP3 player, iPod or anything that has an headset or speaker output. The simply select the AUX input on your radio.

Thanks scottab36!

Does that mean the car radio can control those devices? Also, does the AUX supply power to a device?

Thanks,

If you have just an Aux. input, it will not control anything, nor supply power. If you have both an Aux. in, and a USB port, then you can control, and supply power to a device.

The "aux in" is just like the "aux in" on an old stereo amplifier for your living room. It takes the audio signal coming out of a separate device, amplifies it, and sends it to the speakers. No high tech involved.
