URGENT! Check your seatbelt fastener!

08/2009 build Clubman. From the factory: the passenger side seatbelt anchor was NOT FASTENED. The anchor bolt at the front of the bar was not through the hole in the bar. Instead the front of the bar was tightened between the bolt head and the spacer, making it appear to be correct. In an accident the seat belt and anchor bar would have detached, resulting in possible injury to the front seat passenger. This does not seem as if it could have been done by a mistake in manufacture to me. Lucky for me after 5000 miles it came loose when I opened the club door!

Holy Crapp Ola Batman!! What has your Dealer said about this "little" MISTAKE??!!

File a Complaint with the NHTSA, they need to know about this, this is difintely a Safety Issue and needs to be dealt with immediately!!

Have not been in touch with dealer- fixed it myself.
Anyone else find this problem?
If not maybe it was just a one-time oversight?
If anyone else finds this it could be a serious isssue, like a recall.

I would strongly recommend you file a report with NHTSA on that one. Hopefully it's a one-car defect, not a trend, or a deliberate act. Glad you caught it before being launched through the front windshield!
