Has anyone had this problem before.

Of course while I was accelorating after a toll booth to about 70mph the check engine light came on so I got home and got me scanner out, but batteries were dead so started the car got batteries then got home and check engine light was off. Plugged scanner in and this came up. map/baro circuit high input. Talked to dealer ship and they said could be intake leak (which I have) or other problems also they said it will not hurt the engine.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what it could be.

 

Update on problem.

Has not had the problem for awhile know and still have not fixed my intake tube.

I had this same code, along with occasionally "map/baro circuit high input during deceleration"....the car would run terrible at part throttle, but OK when wide open.

I could go close to a week with no problem, SES light would go out, things would be fine.....then it would come back. I finally was able to monitor the MAP signal when it threw the code, it was essentially stuck at 229 kPa no matter what I was doing (idle, cruise, acceleration, etc..). My guess was that the TMAP sensor was dead. I replaced the TMAP sensor (thanks to Classic and the NAM discount!), so far this appears to have fixed the problem for me.

Thanks for the help I will keep an eye on it. Its weird how nothing changed when the light went on. It drove like it normally would still has not happened again
