The Dreaded Check Engine light.

Had an oil change yesterday and all was well until yesterday afternoon when that yellow light came on and stayed on. I've had that happen when the humidity exceeds 76%. Yesterday was such a day. Service told me it was bad fuel or emissions...what say you? Have you ever experienced the hunidity issue I describe? It goes away when the humdity drops below about 60%
Do tell...

I have never had that problem with high Humidity even at temps in the 90s
you might want to get a scan guage and see what code comes up and then clear it and keep track of the codes if it happens again

I've just got my 08 Clubman S back from the dealership after taking him in for a service and to check the emissions warning light. Turns out that light can indicate a massive build up in carbon in the engine and signifies a major issue. My car is going back next week for four days as they've got to strip the cylinder head and get it rebored to get rid of all the carbon.

Apparently this is becoming a common issue with direct injection engines as the fuel doesn't hit all the areas of the engine where it would previously have washed off the carbon build up.

Covered under warranty thank God.

Yes, I have been reading more about this problem with direct injection. Not just a MINI issue.

I'm not sure humidity is the issue, but do a search for seafoam.
