OEM Chrome Scoop issue

Last night, I noticed a "V" shaped bump on my OEM chrome scoop. I suspect it's chrome separation caused from the heat of the turbo.

No track or racing, haven't even used the sport button - 2,800 miles normal no speeding ticket Washington State (60-88F) driving miles.

Defective chrome scoop? Does my Mini turbo run a little "hotter" than normal?

Going to see what NW Mini will do to fix it. Maybe a new CF scoop or will that melt too?

You've just been initiated into the "melted hood scoop" club. Several threads on this issue, they'll just replace it again and again. It's cheap plastic that can't withstand the turbo heat just below it. You can buy a M7 heat shield or just keep replacing it until Mini/BMW do something about it it. I have an M7 heat shield and no melting after 9,000 miles. Do a search, you'll see all the threads out there.
