OEM Ride Height and Hood Gap?
OEM Ride Height and Hood Gap?
Hey Guys,
I got a question on the stock OEM ride height. After changing the brakes on my ’05 MCS, I noticed that my front passenger side sits about ¼” to ½” higher than the driver’s side. The gap in the fender is very noticeable. I measured the drivers and passenger side rear wheel gaps and they’re right on and match the gap on the driver’s side. It’s just the passenger side that seems to be causing me an issue? I know it’s sort of tuff to measure the wheel gap up front because of the MC’s hood design (fender opens with the hood) but anyone have any ideas on what I should check that might cause my issue? My MCS is bone stock with NO mods and it has 57K miles on it.
Ohh yeah, one thing I did notice was that my front shock (I only checked the passenger side) seems to have an indentation in it. I think this is supposed to be there and it’s part of the factory design, but I’m not sure? I borrowed this photo from another member and highlighted the area I’m referring to regarding this indentation. Even in this photo, it looks like the indentation is supposed to me there? Thoughts?
Finally, is there anyway to adjust the hood gap where the hood meets the front bumper? I’m not sure that this is related to my issue above but the passenger side hood gap is noticeably larger than the driver’s side hood gap.
Thanks in advance guys!!
