What is the best ECU chip or upgrade available.
Additional upgrades.....as you mentioned in your ?????
The reduction pulley is definately the "silver bullet " for these cars!!!
IMHO.....it is ...hands down....the best $400 you will spend as far as upgrades go...

How much hp would a chip add?

>>Current ECU upgrades appear to give around 10HP, up to 15horses in some cases. This is assuming you already have the pulley. ECUs for non-pullied MCS give under 10 horses I believe.
Powerchip is one choice. Some MCS owners have done well with it.
Most people think that it is reasonable to expect about 10-12 HP from a good ECU chip upgrade.
It is true that less gain is expected if you don't have the reduction pulley installed in your MCS.
Some ECU upgrades will be available for both MC and MCS in the future.
There have been no head to head testing of the very best alternatives for ECU chip upgrades.
If you are interested in an ECU shootout with full dyno testing then talk to RandyBMC and see if we can get some independent tests done with a few of the best options out there. Take your pick.
Evotech
PowerChip
GIAC
Shark injector
And there are more players out there-talk to RandyBMC.
Also the ease of installation of each ECU upgrade will vary, some use a laptop computer, some require you to pull your ECU from your car and ship it, some do the upgrade via the OBD port which is very easy. And some may have the potential for fine tuning the version of the software you get to the exact upgrades installed-pulley,
header,throttlebody, cat-back exhaust,cold air intake, etc.
I have been watching the ECU upgrade scene for a very long time and I am still waiting for the info needed for me to make my decision.
