No Air Conditioning - AC Light blinks when turned on?

I've got a 2006 Mini Cooper JCW GP and the air conditioner seems to have died. When I turn the fan on in the car and push the AC button, it lights green as it should, then starts to blink after about 10 seconds. No cold air is blown.

Anyone have an idea of where to start checking on this thing? If this were my truck I could put my hand on each component of the AC system and diagnose it. I can't even find the compressor in the Mini....

I've got the TIS, which doesn't seem to have info on this issue.

Your help is appreciated.

Nope. Checked each of the fuses in the fuse block and we're solid all the way across. Any other ideas?

Turns out my schrader valve which is used to load freon leaked, leaking out all the freon. The system wouldn't build pressure, thus the blinking light was merely telling me the system wasn't pressurizing. Check and see if you have pressure in the freon system. Replacing the schrader valve and recharging the system fixed the problem.
