Chirping coming from wheels

Hello,

I have a '04 MCS after driving for a bit I noticed chirping coming from my wheels as the wheels are turning. This only happens when I slow down and when I accelerate from a stop. Then it goes away after going over 20mph. The chirping increases as I accelerate and slows down as the car slows down. Would this be my brakes causing this? I also noticed that my RF wheel has some play in it compared to the other wheels. Would the bearing be going bad and be causing this chirp? Any help would be greatly appreciated Happy motoring!!!

My 03 did this too. Are you still running runflat tires on S-lites ?

I had two issues..inside pad rubbing on the inside of front disk(s), and the rubber bead of run flat tires rubbing against the s-lite's rim edge...sounded like wet sneakers on waxed tile floor.....lol.

All went away with brake work and new tires/rims.....

Wheel bearings howl like wolfman jack at highway speeds and get worse the faster you drive, so doubt it is that too.

Yea I don't have run flats on the S-lites anymore... Do you think the tires could cause the problem? I don't really see how though...

My s-lites and runflats did this....I thought because of the stiffer sidewalls of the tires design. Maybe it has more to do with the lip of the S-lite rim.

Is the sound sorta like sneakers on a waxed floor ? That is what I had.

When the noise happens again, keep your speed constant, watch out behind you (no tailgaters) and with your left foot, lightly apply the brakes and listen for a change in sound. If you are driving a manual xmission, be very careful that you don't automatically push the brake with your left foot like you are used to pushing the clutch. If you do, you will become very friendly with your steering wheel or windshield.

Mine is making the same noise with x-lites(R84) and non-runflats. It sounds like its only coming from the drivers front. I checked to make sure the wheels had been torqued to spec and that didnt cure it. I just did front pads and rotors and it still continues to chirp. I also installed Madness anti-mush plates when I dropped her thinking that might solve it but nothing. Im curious as to what it could be.

I had a similar problem with my run flats. It turned out to be a tread separation in one of the tires. I replace the tires, the noise went away.
