Interesting trip to the dealer today. (long)

So I took my 2008 Cooper S in to the dealer today because the windshield washer fluid stopped spraying on the front windshield. I found the hose to the passengers side spray nozzle had come off, but when I stuck in back on, it would just pop back off when trying to spray. Since I live 100 miles from the dealership, I decided to make a day of it and see some old friends while I was there, and buy a few extra oil filters also. So I go and explain to the SA what the car was doing, what I found, what I tried to do to fix the problem, and requested they change out the short piece of hose since the original was mushy, and wouldn't stay on. After 2 hours they announced it was fixed, and they had given me a free oil change since the indicator showed -14000 miles until the next oil change. Negative. I thought that was funny. I told them I changed my own oil since I lived so far away. When I asked them if they had replaced the hose, I was told the tech "secured" the hose to the nozzle. When I asked why the piece of hose wasn't replaced, the SA explained that the tech knew what he was doing, and that "securing" the hose was more involved than just sticking the hose back on. So, I took my keys, sat in front of the dealership, tried to spray my windshield, popped the hose off, walked back inside and handed the keys back to the SA and asked them to fix it correctly. You should have seen the look on his face. Priceless!

Way to go Zooki!! I'm unsure as to why the SA's sometimes think because we own a MINI we've some how lost some of our logical brain cells??!!

I am thankful to have a good relationship with my SA, but if I have to deal with any other...I'M NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!

I've had a service issue where I asked specifically for the condition of the tires, ie. wear indication and when a replacement may need to be done, just to be prepared. I also asked to have the tires rotated, for my own piece of mind, I always rotate my tires every 6,000 miles. Tires did not get rotated as it was specified, only the condition as requested. I did not find this out until I had already left the dealership...my bad. But next visit tires will be replaced so not too concerned, but believe you-me I will not leave again until "all" requests have been completed.

Yeah, I mark my tires before service visits so I can tell if they've been rotated.

You guys pay MINI to rotate your tires? Just go to a discount tire/america's tire center and they do it for free.

After my last service, my indicator @ startup says I need my next service in 1/2001.
