Squeaky brakes...

hmm... i didnt have this problem before, but my brakes are squealing like a stuck pig... anyone else deal with this?

I have an 09 JCW, so I have the Brembos up front. I have 9500 on the clock so they should be good... they are not worn, and it's not the "indicator" scratch...

It squeals even when the car (and brakes) are warmed up... It only happens at very slow speeds (only time u really hear squeals imo)... i'll jack up the cark and tak a look at the pads when i have time, but has anyone else dealt with this?

MY VW R32 squeals bad when at low speeds coming to a stop. Apparently it's from brake dust build up and after I slam on the brakes a couple times, it goes away.

ahhh.. could be this as these JCW brakes cause a HUGE amount of brake dust... to the extent I've taken my wheels off the car to wash the insides out...

Yeah, the R32 brakes turn the wheels gray after a day of use. If braking hard a few times doesn't take car of it, just take it in, you may get some free new brakes!

Try a series of 'hard brakes' from speed, followed by proper cooling. (Similar to the 'bedding in' procedure). This may help to 'scrub' the pads and reduce the noise.

Make sure you are in a safe area when doing this!

Re-apply brake pad anti-squeal compound. You don't need any particular brand. Get generic or low cost compound at retail auto parts store

tried it, but it still squeals... checked brakes, plenty of pad left... i'm off to the dealer so they can also check on my rear hatch again...

My clubman did the same thing. Did a few ABS stops and seemed to resolve the problem. Have you tried cleaning off the calipers/rotors with a pressure washer?
