Another front end CLUNK issue along with bad handling...

I did a search on this topic and read all of threads related to the clunking noise, but i didn't find any definite results...

Kinda long story but I hope someone can relate.....

I have a 2007 Cooper S with the hyper Sport suspension. The car has about 26,000 miles and has no mods. I've noticed this clunking noise from the front suspension of the car when it only had 18,000 miles(about 6 months ago). The noise would happen whenever I pull into a parking space and straighting the steering wheel out. It also happens when I go in reverse to pull out of the space and start turn the wheel. Most of the time its just a clunk, but sometimes it's a "pop" and you can feel it underneath your feet. My passenger would feel it too. About 2 months ago I took it to my dealer and told them it was driving me crazy, so they kept the car for a whole day to check it out. They called me back the next day and said that there is a recall for spacer(or something) to the transmission mounting that cause this clunk. They replaced this part and I took the car home. As soon as I got home and turned at the end of my street, I heard the clunk again. Again, I took the car back 2 weeks later and had them check it out, and they said they didn't hear any clunk, but they did make some "adjustments" to my suspension and all seems to be fine. About 1 weeks later, the clunk came back. I have been driving it for over a month now and haven't had time to take the car back. I noticed just a few week ago that the handling was getting really bad. Each time I change lanes and run over those lane markers, the car would bounce all over the place, especially on the freeway when I'm taking a curve and change lanes at the same time. When I brake, the car would pull to the right also. I now drive with both hands on the steering wheel at all times when I'm not shifting gears. This is rather depressing consider how great the car handles when we got it over a year ago. This is my wife's DD, so she doesn't drive hard or crazy to wear out the parts. I'm schedule to see the dealer next week, but I'm afraid they'll just tell me the same thing. Is it just my car or is there anyone else with these symptoms? What should I tell the dealer if they say there's nothing wrong? Shoud I take it to a different dealer?

Honestly, I've even contemplated selling it and getting something else.

Sounds like a bad ball joint in the front suspension or could be an issue with the power steering rack. I would have them check it ASAP if the handling character has changed or feels nervous.

Also make sure you have a tech ride with you so you can 'show' them the problem and they can hear it.
