Throttle COMPLETELY shut off at 2nd.

I just floored my car coming home from 1st to 2nd and right after I shifted into 2nd the gas completely shut off. I had it floored in 2nd and nothing. I had this happen another time but nothing this bad. No revs as if my clutch was burnt, no nothing. I had to let off and give it gas again. My car wasn't overheating or anything, it was cool out.

I searched for a similar thread but there wasnt a solution.

Sounds like you went into limp mode. SES light on?

no light on. My friends told me it was my traction control kicking because I chirped 2nd gear. I had it left on.

What is limp mode anyway?

Yes your friends are correct. Use your right foot for traction control!

I had this EXACT same thing happen to me coming home from work today and was about to post a thread but then I read this . I had the car completely warmed up and was doing a leisurely commute home. I hit a nice section on the last part of my trip and opened it up in second. I took it to about 5500 RPM at WOT. I went to shift into 2nd at went WOT and.......nothing.....total mush.... When I let off for a second and got back on it at about 80% it was fine.

Wtf? Traction control?
