Has anyone replaced these themselves? MINI quoted 562 for parts and labor. I was looking in my Bentley manual and it says you have to remove the glass to change the window motor, is this true? How hard are these jobs?

It should be easy enough to remove it all, the hard part will be getting the glass back on and aligned correctly. I think there is adjustability built into the window at almost every bolt.

 

The glass has that auto up feature when closing door and alignment is crutial....

I can do a lot of repairs myself, but there are some things I leave to the dealer to perform. IMO, if this was my car, this would be one of those cases......just depends, how much is your sanity, fit / finish and time spent screwing around is worth to ya......
