What color should oil be after change

I had my car in yesterday to Crevier Mini in California. I have had my oil changed at 7500 mile intervals rather than roughly 15000 miles but yesterday when I picked it up something seemed strange. I could swear when the oil and filter is changed the oil should be a very light brown almost yellow color but my oil was still dark brown and almost looked black when wiped off with a paper towel.

Is the factory oil this dark when it has less than ten miles on it or is it supposed to be very light. I know all of my other cars I have owned have a very light color oil when first changed.

Could anyone who has checked their oil when it was fresh please let me know.

Thanks

Very light brown after every oil change.
Just went out to look and the oil is now medium light brown 450 miles
after last oil change.
If you change the oil and fill it and then change the filter, you can
dump a good bit of filthy oil back into the crankcase and end up with
dark brown oil after the change. Of course the other possibility is that
they didn't change the filter at all or didn't change the oil at all!

You should barely be able to see it on the dipstick.
Dark brown = not changed.
