Something important fell in the hole

A very small very important (I made it & if I can't get it out I have to make another one) item fell into the oval vent in the top of the dash just in front of the speedometer . Has anyone ever removed and replaced this without destroying it or its surroundings ? I grabbed the edge and pulled up pretty hard, but it 't seem to want to budge. I REALLY don't want to break it. I guess until I find out, I will just attempt to grab the little item and manuever it out between the louvers without dropping it down one of the ducts .

2 pairs of tweezers & flashlight in mouth - got it out on the 1st try!
