Its probably been brought up before, but, I was cleaning my 08' MCS today and i decided to take a look at the tool kit and i noticed several important things are missing most notable a tow hook. i mean i have a jack which is of no use cause, I have run flat tires and no spare. but no tow hook. I was wondering if someone could give me the complete list of what should be in my tool kit. and has anyone had any experiences with this and do you think my MINI dealer will give me the missing parts, even though its been months since i got the MINI

 

I just picked my MCS up on the 16th. I had found some discussion on NAM about missing tool kit pieces, but IIRC, that discussion was about the jack being excluded from some cars with runflat tires. I think that was an earlier r56 issue. One poster included the attached photo of the kit that came with his MCS. I used that photo to check mine on delivery, and it matched. So, I would assume a dealer would be able to get you missing pieces without charge. Whether they will, is another story. That said, something like a tow hook is pretty important.

 

yeah thats what i mean its like okay i have run flats, they should still include a jack, but its not as important as a tow hook. I'm gonna call my MINI dealer some time today to see what if anything they will do

 

Yes, the tow hook is needed. Note that is was missing and you should get it.

I have all that is in the previous post's attachment, but only after I asked the dealer for it since originally I had nothing for 3 months except the tow hook rolling around on my 2009 Clubman. I wish mine came came with the warning triangle but it was never provided and was wishing one would be available since there is a space for it below the clubman's door.
