Idler Pulley and CS Pulley Questions
Hello Colleagues,
What I assume is the idler pulley - in a triangle with the SC and camshaft pulleys - on my JCW needs to be replaced. I have seen OEM or OEM'ish replacements for approx. $40 and upgrade pulleys for about $180. I can't imagine there is any advantage, but thought I'd check it out with the community.
Also, I am upgrading the crankshaft pulley with an ALTA 0%. Bentley says that a new pulley bolt must be used, but it looks like a special and likely very pricey piece of hardware due to the shoulder just under the head. I believe the bolt is torqued to about 80 f.lb. and the pulley is pressure fitted onto the crankshaft, so my thought is there isn't much stretch on the bolt. Your thoughts on reusing it, please?
Cheer up, it's almost Spring and time to put on the performance rubber.
