I have been reading various posts on the stumble and gathered some info connecting the problem with the BMW 7 series and found this info on the NHTSA site stating a recall I will also add that I haven't picked up my 03 MSC yet and will this saturday.
So this problem has not swayed me at all from purchasing this car. I hope a recall will help the people with the problems they are having with there autos. If someone has already posted info on this subject Im sorry for the dubbed post. Best luck to all and hope to see you on the road.NHTSA Publishes List of July 2003 Recalls

This is the actuall recall I forgot to add to the OG post

Bayerische Motoren Werke
Models: BMW 745i Years: 2002-2003
BMW 745Li Years: 2002-2003
Number Potentially Involved: 5,470
Dates of Manufacture: October 2001 – April 2003
Defect: On certain passenger vehicles, due to a software error, a desynchronization of the valvetronic motors for engine banks I and II may occur. If this occurs, the engine could stall. In those cases, the driver may not be able to restart the engine. Depending on the level of engine roughness, or stalling, as well as traffic conditions and the driver’s reactions, this could lead to a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the digital engine management control unit. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began July 8, 2003. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-831-1117.

The fact the 745 is having software issues is interesting. There may be some correlation.
But, keep in mind that the valve train on the 745 is COMPLETELY different from the mini.(and far more complex for that matter)

As well as two to four times more expensive than a MINI.

I have a 2003 MCS that runs super smooth. No problems.
If I get a recall to check and reinstall new ECU software I will stay at home-
safe and sound and far away from reprograming my ECU
Thank you very much.

Thanks for posting, I just sent it off to a friend who has the 2002 745i. Not sure if he was informed by BMW. I'll post to you let you know if he was or wasn't so we can maybe gauge MINI's response if one comes out.

Me too. No stumble, yo-yo or hard start here either. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it!
