Another CVT bites the dust

My CVT has been acting up recently and the MINI service folks decided its toast. So the good news is that the new one is under warranty (it better be with only 38K on it). But, I was wondering what other CVT owners experience is on the life span of their replacement transmission.

It does speak loads for MINI though that my transmission dies at 38k and I would still gladly buy another MINI (although it would be a manual!)

OMG that sucks!!!

If that happens to me then I will be without a car and taking the bus to work. It would suck to be paying on a car when the car is broke and cannot be fixed.

I am scared to DEATH that this will happen to me. My warranty is up in 30 days and I cannot afford the 4k to extend it.

Wish me luck.

My warranty is up in about 45 day so I am really glad this happened now. But, I am making plans to sell the car (after its fixed) and hopefully get a Manual MINI later. All I can say is if its acting up get it in to the service ASAP.

True, but I would rather go a manual this time around. Just have to find a buyer, or trade it in....

Or find a jet back 05 S

Well considering that MINI was the only brand to have increased sales in November (compared to Nov 07), I'm sure you can get a buyer or do a trade

I keep meaning to learn to drive a manual... but I love my paddles so...
