Very little heat @ floor

The wifes feet were cold so I hit the fan top vents just fine
She put her hand down and said there was very little air coming out so I set to floor only and still the same????
Any of you folks had this problem??
Winter is coming

Yes, thought it was just me...three pairs of socks and boots...still can't feel my toes! Hope someone out there can figure it out, or I can find another posting pertaining to this matter!

When was the last time the cabin filter was changed? The airflow slows when it is dirty. Very easy to change. Don't bother with the carbon ones, they cost more, and you can't clean them. I use the paper ones, and change them about once a year.

Cabin filters here

If it's not the filter, I've seen a couple of the early cars actually have one of the stepper motors for the flap fail, or the rod for the floor flap pop off.

So if its this, how big a job is it to fix?

My 06 MCS has very low air flow to the floor. Is this normal? It is not the filter and the dash vents will blow your hat off.

Today this very problem has hit my '02 MCS. Last week I heard a weird shudder in the distribution box behind the speedo, then today the floor all of a sudden gets little or no heat. The defroster and panel vents work fine, but when trying to get floor heat it seems like there's a vent flap not opening right. As if the air is trying to get out everywhere at one time rather than directed to the floor.

I hope someone knows of this issue/fix or I'll be installing some flexible hoses to reroute panel vents to my feet. Considering how much is covering up the distribution box only worries me on how much it will cost to dissemble to reach the problem.

Found more info in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...er-issues.html Sounds like a real hassle to fix.
