I haven't posted here in a while...but I live in Maine...just North of Portland. I bought my 05 MCS from MoP...and had all the warranty and service done there until it was out of warranty last fall. I don't work Friday's so I had my appointments on Fridays and used it as an opportunity to go shopping in MA...hey, what can I say, I'm a girl so good shopping is always a plus!!! Anyway, I can't say enough great things about everyone at MINI of Peabody...and it is super easy to get to from Maine (1.5 hours max). I think I never tried any place local because at the time I bought mine, there still weren't that many MINIs around here so I didn't know any place to get service. And, my MCS had some significant mechanical problems while under warranty so I wanted MoP to do the work because of their stellar reputation. Needless to say, I got to know everyone at MoP really well and they are 100% all about their customers. BTW, MoP will rent a car (at their expense) if you need to leave your car for warranty work.

I've recently started taking the car to Autowerkes in Freeport, Maine (European car specialists) for general service and so far for one mechanical problem...I've been very happy with them and they've been as nice to do business with as MoP. They told me that some people have been taking their in warranty cars there for work. That said, I still fully intend to use MoP for service sometimes, depending on what needs to be done and when I need to be (or shop) in MA.

my dealer always gives me a loaner.
as i type.. i am waiting for the flat bed to take my mini for a 3 hour ride to have an electrical issue checked out.
headlights working intermittently. and tail lights not working all the time.

they think it may be a light control module. ?

i will be sad to see her towed away.. but .. beats taking a day off work and driving 3 hours up and 3 back

Only if it is near Portland. Carabasset Valley is more like 4 hours unless of course you are flying very low.

Used them to repair my BMW one time when up in Rural Maine. Towed it there on a recommendation and they did fantastic work quickly.

Hopefully she comes back faster than the "three hour tour" you are
quoting.

Just the fact that you took a picture of her on the flatbed shows how much you love her. Isn't it funny how much we love these little guys? Did you get teary-eyed? When mine got towed, I didn't have a camera and she was facing toward us. We drove behind her for two blocks and I just kept saying, "Awe, that's not how she's supposed to roll!". The husband was laughing... but he was sad too. (Supercharger belt had broken while driving her to a local shop.)

Are they going to bring a loaner to you or do you just have to wait for your baby to come back?

Sending my wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

Now that my car is out of warranty I intend to go to Autowerkes for service. I've only used them to order parts up to this point but the guys there seem knowledgeable enough to handle the situation. Also, with 8-10 used Minis on the lot I'm sure they have enough dealings with the mechanics of the car.
