Vacuum noise when off

Am I being paranoid or is something wrong here?
Yesterday and today upon getting to my parking garage and shutting down my 06 MCS the Cooling fan (I'm assuming) keeps running for ~5 minute. It sounds like somebody is running a powerful shop vac. My temperature gauge has been hanging around at about half like it always has. I had plenty of time to pop the hood get out and check it out before it shutdown. With the hood open it didn't feel as hot as I'd expect even if I didn't think it was overheating a little.

It only has done this one other time in the past 3 years. This summer after I drove from Connecticut to Montreal.

The weather just suddenly dropped so it's about ~30F on my drive to and from work and I had the heat cranked up a little but it hasn't happened on my way to work. Yesterday it happened after the full 30 minute highway drive home. Today it didn't happen when I stopped at the gym after the 30min drive but did happen after I spent an hour at the Gym and drove ~5min home.

Assuming it's just doing its job cooling the car it still worries me because I know a guy who's always getting jump starts in his fairly new 911 because the fan will cool it down after a hard drive until the battery is dead.

Mine used to do it all the time, I never got a dead battery.

It would stay on for usually less than 15 minutes.

I'm still a little confused why it's so random. I'd also expect the cooling fan to stay on in hot weather after a hard drive not when it's 30F out and a typical mild drive.

Thanks though I'll sleep a little easier knowing I won't have to worry so much about getting jump starts.
(I'll tell you it is embarrassing to ask for jumps in a 911)

Mine does the same and had no problems for over an year now. So don;t worry i think it's normal. Just check the engine coolant that it's at max.

Thank You Darksun! I'm shocked I didn't check it earlier low on

I just checked my coolant before I saw the Post and I am low.

This is one of the drawbacks of having an old Beelte as my first car. I learned a lot about cars but I keep forgetting about those little things my bug didn't have. Like a radiator

PS it's weird the Owners manual doesn't say what type of antifreeze to use it say call the dealer

Just put distilated water in! No need for coolant!
