How to replace right inner CV boot?

I just noticed that my 2003 Mini Cooper (CVT) has a small crack/tear in the passenger side inner CV boot. The price for a complete new drive shaft is about $450, but MINI sells a CV boot replacement kit for only about $45, so I will be attempting to replace the boot. Before I do so, I have a couple questions...

1. Should I replace both boots? Or will I not have the choice because both must be removed to install one?

2. How do you seperate the inner drive shaft joint (the point where it meets the support)? Pic: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...22&hg=31&fg=20

3. Does anyone have some page scans of the Haynes manual where it shows this process?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Mine tore on the inboard drivers side. I only replaced the one boot. The shaft is held in the differential by a c-clip. Once you have everything else off, if you grab the half shaft and quickly jerk it back and forth it should pop out. If not you can GENTLY persuade it with a screw driver by prying it out as you rotate the shaft around. Hope that helps.

Does the transmission fluid pour out when you remove the drive shaft from the differential/transmission? This is on a CVT btw...
