Yellow "half engine" light came on and..
...the engine has lost considerable power.
The owner's manual states that the alarm is something that isn't going to impede my trip, but the car is now acting like it is running on one or two cylinders and refuses to get up past 2000 RPMs.
I only have just over 1400 miles on my Clubman.
The Motoring Club I have joined has offered a few suggestions:
1. Unplug the battery for about a minute, plug it back in and see if the computer just had a "brain fart".
2. Crawl around the engine and find out if anything may have come loose. The roads here in Michigan are... not the best, horribly bumpy in some places.
3. Take it to a local Autozone, ask them to scan it and then get the code onto the club and a few members might be able to tell me what it is.
So far, there's a suggestion that it could be a O2 sensor.
I was told that the dealership may make a claim of bad gas, such as to much ethanol, if I am unable to rectify this issue right away. I have only put in Shell premium (93 Octane) fuel. As I understand it, Shell is the only locally available gasoline that contains no ethanol.

Do NOTHING! Take it back to your dealer or, as your post implies that you are on a trip, take it to the closest dealer. You should have a book in your glove box that has all of the dealers listed. I hope that it's not something serious and it probably is just a brain fart within the computer but if you piddle with it you could make it worse. My advice is to let the dealer handle it.
I reviewed the error messages again and this is what I have.
The error on the speedometer refers to something affecting emissions. The light on the tach is showing the loss of engine power.
I'm going to take a glance under the car and see if anything got dinged, damaged or broken loose somehow.

We have the same indicator with our '08 MCa. The dealer replaced the Vanos Solenoid and has now decided that the computer is bad. 10k miles on ours.
It's on order and we are driving a very trashed out Jetta from Hertz as our replacement. Not thrilled about this but that's more than a Honda/Toyota dealer would do.

My car did this today. It was BITTER cold over night (-5). The light went away after 5 minutes and didn't come back the rest of the day. I left a voicemail with my dealership to look at it. I didn't have any issues with power.
