Xenon Adjustment--Left to Right

Ok, have spent 3 hours doing searches, and no definitive answer to this question. Here's the situation:
I have an 08 MCS with xenons. On low beam, there is a normal, sharp cut-off in front of the car. However, when I go to high beams, something is not right. I can really light up trees, etc. off the side of the road on the DRIVER side, moreso than seems correct, based on experience with xenons on my Audi TT and two 07 vettes I had. What is worse, I don't have the light on the passenger side like it should be. The light should be brighter and to the right side of the car to light the shoulder, and it doesn't do it. It is like both lights on high beam are aimed too far to the left, with the driver side off the road rather than down the centerline, and the passenger side light aimed more to the center of the road. I went out last night on a deserted straight stretch of road and tried the vertical adjustment and it did not help appreciably-- the light is just not going where it should.
I took it to the dealer yesterday and all they could do was shine it on the wall and state that they were both at the same heighth in the shop, and could do nothing else. bastages!
I tried to see if there was any beam angle adjustment from right to left using the threaded mounting points. Backed about 6 ft away from my closed garage doors, I marked the brightest focal spot on high beams with blue tape. I then tried various combinations of screwing the threaded mounting points in on one side and out on the other, which should theoretically move the whole light assy to the right. However, while I got a little shift of my focal spot to the right, it also screwed up the placement of the light assy relative to the openings in the bonnet, so that did not work.
What I need to know is how/if the bulb assy can be adjusted left to right. I can find no such adjustment capability from looking at the exterior of the light housings.
If nobody has an answer, I think I'm going to have to arrange to meet a service dept tech after dark and show them what the problem is. This is my 61st car/truck/motorcycle, so I know how lights are supposed to be adjusted...
Any advice appreciated, as this is unsafe, given the number of bambi I have in my area lurking around on the right side of the road waiting to play kamikaze. (have hit 2 already that jumped out in front of us through the brush.)

If misaligned your dealer will adjust them for you under warranty. I would try there first.

like I said above, all they did was shine them on the wall in the shop and see if the height was the same on both. Car could be completely cross-eyed, and as long as the cutoff line was level, that's all they said they could do.

Unusual problem, and I beleive you when you say they aren't right (brights). The way I understand it they just aim the lowbeams and the brights are whatever they are. I mean it's possible that the bright portion is just put in the assembly cockeyed (or the socket is crooked) and you need a whole new light assembly. Like you said you have to get a dealer rep at night (with your car and one of his) to demo the problem. I suspect you'll need a whole new deal.
And what's with you jumping on my screen name dude? (lol)
Edit: I think the highbeams are the same light source as the lows, with a shutter opening to let more light out.

Missed that bit, sorry. I believe the low/high assembly on the xenons are the same piece with an actuator to determine the beam state. What does the gap between your entire headlight assembly and your bonnet look like? If the gap is abnormal you may be able to adjust the assembly side to side.

This LINK will help with bonnet adjustment

Lessee, I've been "Fig" since it was hung on me when I was 7, and that was in 1958. My VA license plate is "FIG NWTN" too. How 'bout you?

Nimcosi, thanks for the link. That is what I tried in the garage, trying to tilt the passenger lamp assy to shine left. However, as you do that (going in on one side of the adjuster bolts and out on the other) it definitely screwed up the alignment in the bonnet so I had to put it back.
I'm thinking that I'm just going to have to go down to the dealer and be there with a service guy after dark and compare cars. I can't believe they "all do that", since my light pattern doesn't come out anything like what right hand drive cars are supposed to be. Had to stop for 4 deer on the side of the road this morning. It's getting dangerous out there and darker every morning.
Thanks all! If anyone else has any idea about how to move the bulb assy left/right [within the headlamp assembly], I'm all ears.

Nimcosi,
just noticed that the very last instruction on the link says:
"adjujst head lamp according to repair instructions RA 63 10 0004"

That might be a clue. Do you have a link to that? (I hope)
thanks!

I was Fig in HS (69), Newt in college and after. My grandfather was Fig. My dad neither. My bro is Newt too, but he lives in the Caribbean.
Hope you get 'er fixed. You'll need 2 cars at night I agree in order to convince them it's not right.

Sorry I do not have those instructions. I wonder if you can give that number to the dealer to help with your issue?

Here's how to adjust LEFT/RIGHT on Xenons

On each light, there is an adjustment screw accessible from the top of the light. If you look at the picture, you will see where it is. It is under a plastic plug, which I have removed for the picture. The screw drives a threaded shaft that rotates the bulb assemgly when you turn it. If you look in the outside side of the light, you can see the threaded plastic shaft that turns as you adjust from the top. The plug was a challenge to get out, as it drops down into the light almost an inch. I used a 90 deg. pick and came up from a small bottom access hole under the plug, and was able to push it up a little to where I could get some pressure from the top with a small screwdriver to pry it up and out. Once out, VOILA, there's the adjuster. It uses a Phillips or 6mm allen head (recommended) like the up/down adjuster.
Hope this saves someone else some trouble in getting lights adjusted.
Cheers

Plastic plug that has to be removed to get to adjuster

This is a (poor) pic of the plug that goes in the top of the light housing covering the left/right adjuster screw. You can see that it goes down in the housing quite a ways. Just wanted you all to see what it is that you have to pry out and why it's a little bit of a challenge.
I'm thinking of drilling a small hole in the top of it so that I could insert a 90 deg pick, then pull straight up if I ever need to get it out again. It's not normally going to get wet, but I could put a little bit of silicone in the hole and then just push through it when the plug needed to come out.

If you decide to adjust your lights, you may want to try that trick first, as opposed to pushing them up from the bottom and prying them out. May do less damage.
