Hi All,

I'm taking delivery of my new Liquid Yellow MC w/CVT on Friday.

One thing I keep reading about are all the "Dealer Programmable Features". Has no one figured out how these are changed? I've had a Ford Explorer and Chevy Venture and they both had these types of features that the user could adjust, you didn't have to go back to the dealer.

Looking at the list, there doesn't seem to be anything critical on the list that would effect the safety of the vehicle, but if I drive the 60 mile round-trip to get a setting changed and I get home and don't like it what a pain to have to go back just to get it changed again. After all, I own the vehicle (ok, the bank owns it) is this such a secret? I realize that there are owners who might not want to mess with this, but I'm sure there are many others who would like the option. I'm not even opposed to hooking up a laptop and using a terminal program. Guess I don't understand the difference between rewiring a stereo, changing an exhaust system and changing settings in the Vehicle Memory.

Sorry for the rant, I've just been a bit on edge ever since I got the call from my dealer that my MINI is in, and I secured financing and insurance....I even painted a "MINI parking only" zone in my garage. The wife is saying I'm a bit obcessed, and it's her car! (But just wait......)

Also, anyone know of any companies making vinyl checkerboard kits besides GrafikDezine or CooperFlags? Looking for something similar to the GrafikDezine style 011, but a bit straighter....

Hehe CONGRATS!!! I know the feeling... understandable... unfortunally the programming can oly be changed by the dealer... i believe its a really quick job... they do the first program for free to your liking... and then from then on if u want to change it some dealers charge u labor... some that are nice enough dont.... so better check the options now and decide what u want...
