I need some help, after one year and 21000 miles (without any problems, great car!), my mini started and drove for 1/8 of a mile out of my driveway and stopped running. Tried restart and I could make it ruff idle but nothing else (electro gas petal had no effect). Has 5 bars of gas left and was filled ~300 miles ago (ran fine). Towed to the dealer (with no reported computer codes). They tried a new air mass flow sensor - nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Check to make sure the gas cap is tight - 2 clicks. I had a similar situation last week. The car would not idle.

 

hm.. no idea if you do let us know... my engine pretty much died on me and has been at the dealership for about a month now... but i hope you find out what's wrong with it.

 

I'll have the service dept check on the gas cap...we did fill it the 4 days prior to this problem. I thought the computer would show a Gas cap missing or loose ICON[FONT=MINITypeRegular-Regular][SIZE=1][FONT=MINITypeRegular-Regular][SIZE=1]

I'm shocked that a car could sit in a dealership for a month with no solution near....what is that about?

PS I miss my Mini!
