3year,36k
Hello:
I am new here & tried the search but could not locate antyhing. I purchased my cooper july ,22,06 first service had to be over the one year mark so on july 27 ,07, it showed up for the oil change ,car had 3,000 miles on it.Ok, now july rolls around again & I try to schedule it for July 25, 08, I am off that day called the local dealer & he told me I need to wait till after the 27th due to last year , ok.I then ask him how I get the 3rd & last one taken care of since & can't be there before July 27,09 He tells me that I can't ,warranty expires on July 22,09. I then asked how can it be a 3 year free maintence warranty he told me it was but could not tell me how to take advantage of the 3rd year. Anyone else run into that same situation? Shame on me!!The car only get about 2,500-3,ooo miles per year.I am a little confused about this & they don't seem to want to offer any suggestions
Thanks for letting me post this & to whom ever comes up with a solution

3 years 36k miles is exactly that. You get free scheduled maintenances for 3yr/36k. It doesn't mean you'll get 3 oil changes. It just depends how you drive your car and what schedule maintenances come up during that time.
Plus your dealer is pretty harsh. A good dealership will pony up that last oil change even though it's only a couple days out of warranty. Apparently they have too many customers to want you coming back for something else down the road. I'd call my Mini Adviser and ask them if they would like to see your wallet on the show floor again.
Thank you for the replys. Stooken maybe you should work at the dealership. No one there could even begin to answer the question. The sales people should word the warranty different not to say you get the oil changes for 3 years, but any evet I get it now.
Thanks again
Thanks again
It's hard to predict how much you'll get out of the 3/36k service agreement. With my car, all I was able to get was the OBC-recommended "Oil Change" at 12,500 and "Inspection I" at 33,200 miles. (It was less than one year between the two services, so I couldn't get an additional "annual" oil change).
Even the extended 4/50k service period that MINIUSA gave me for free isn't going to get me any more free services, since it's looking like the next scheduled service ("Oil Change") isn't going to come due until after 50k miles.

My SA had me come in just inside the 36 mos window for my last "low mileage service (oil change). (only 22Kmi to date) they also did the wipers and a brake/radiator flush (apparently that is a recent change where they are recommending that after 24 months).
