Low Mileage vs. Regular OBC Service
Low Mileage vs. Regular OBC Service
Was reading a post today (think it was actually for R56) about the difference between low mileage service and mileage by the OBC. I think my first service was by the OBC (ie counted down to zero). Not sure all what the did because I was in Iraq at the time and my wife took it. Last year (September) my service was a 'low mileage' service. Is that just an oil change and is there an appreciable difference from the other. This other post also made it sound like you could still get a 'regular' service when the OBC ticked off - only problem is that the dealer reset the OBC when they did the service.
So I guess my questions are: what are the differences and did I get screwed out of something?

Low Mileage Service
I have a 2006 MCS with 6400 miles. I bought it in February with only 5500 miles on it and called the BMW dealer and they did the first service on it. It appears that the service is based only on mileage and unless you call them and tell them you have low mileage, you will not get a service message.
My battery wet dead and when I brought it in for service the dealer told me it was not covered under warreanty because of low mileage! They quoted $300 to replace it! I put in a new battery myself. 10 minutes and $90 and put on a trickle charger on the new battery. I suspect this car drains the battery much quicker than other cars since I have never had this problem before even with low mileage.
I now learned that they will void warranty repairs for low mileage! I wonder if other manufacturers do they same?
