Squeaky Door Rubber Seal

NAM family! Got another one for you guys. My window is making a lot of squeaky noises when up. I think it may be the rubber seal trim around the entire door. I have seen some other MCS and the this trim appears to be different. Mine is a really early '07 delivered early May. My trim appears to be really smooth with no texture to it. All the others I have seen are a little more rugged and seem to be sturdier. Can you tell me how all of your look? Thanks!

Put something on the seal, something like Armor All, I've cured those sounds in other cars by applying a conditioner on the rubber. Not a problem on my Mini yet... My seal looks like it has some texture but not really rugged.

Right, mine are completely smooth, which gives more surface to rub against the window. The dealer sprayed on some silicone, but I think it made it worse. I am going to look for rubber conditioner and try that!

Any luck with that rubber noise? What about the clanking sound. My car has really settled down, I actually had it in my possession and not at the service dept for a whole week (knock on wood)!

Well, I cleaned up the seal (because the dealer had sprayed it several times with silicone spray) and used Meguiar's Trim Dressing and that made it go away! I am so relieved. As far as the knocking sound, since Jenny could not give me any more info, and from what I understand the sound did not really go away, I have no weapons to go back to the dealer and complain. The newest one, you probably read it, the self-adjusting feature on the xenons is not working anymore, and found out that the service department broke a bunch of pieces when they troubleshooted the knocking sound! So it has to go back into the shop tomorrow for that! I am sick!
