Suspension Trouble

My suspension feels strange
One day I was walking to my car and the driver side rear view seemed uneven. And it's not the tire pressure and I was on a flat surface.

Has anyone experienced the feeling that their suspension is lower on the rear driver side. I've noticed occassionally that when I'm driving the ride seems off, especially after i've made a right turn or gone around a curved exit to the right.

Could this be the bushings or camber. I've only got 4,700 miles on my MCS with standard suspension and 17 wheels. Years ago I had a car that had this issue...it too had multi-link suspension.

Any Thoughts?

The driver's side may sit higher to compensate for the driver's weight. Checking the alignment would help to determine if there is a problem.

Your car should be level unladen, side to side. Take some accurate measurments to ground level to determine where the problem lies. Show this to your dealer.

I checked the suspension and it seems the spring is out of alignement in relation to the shock on the drivers side. I have an appointment on Wednesday. I knew I wasn't crazy. I hope they can fix or replace it.

Took it too the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong...it figures. I had a rear end alignment done--it was slightly off. However I am still noticing the rear is lower a bit. I talked to them about the springs and they said that all the minis have their springs in different positions.

Is that true? I thought the springs should be in the same position on both sides of the car. It still rides as if my drivers side suspension is lower than the other side. I need resolution on this.

I would want to talk to a service manager. That spring looks like it is not properly seated. Of course, the picture could be a bit of an optical illusion, I guess.

The bottom of the coil is seated on the shock pad, But I think the spring just bows out like that. The dealer would charge me 2 hours labor to unbolt the combo and twist the spring.

I thinking maybe the bushings are what's causing the feeling that the suspension is sagging on the drivers side. when I'm parked sometimes you can tell the rear leans a little lower on the drivers side. Any suggestions.

The axis of the springs are not concentric with the strut/shock axis---that is normal. But this asymmetry should be the same on the left and right sides of the car.

Did you take measurements with a ruler on both sides of the car?

The problem seems to correct itself briefly when I do a hard left turn or left u-turn....strange.

A friend of mine seems to think possibly the rod that connects the sway bar to the control arms could be too tight on one end...?
