Roundabout causes many warning lights. Sound like a fault?
Roundabout causes many warning lights. Sound like a fault?
Had this happen twice yesterday. It was quite a mess, but here's the order as memory serves:
While making a few laps of a roundabout at moderate speed, the following happened:
BRAKE was illuminated in red, the orange ! triangle with circular arrow around it was also lit. The tach center display first showed the orange triangle symbol, then changed to a ((!)) symbol which turned from orange to red and remained red. all three of these stayed on until the car was parked (first time it happened) or exited the roundabout and drove for a couple of hundred feet.
DSC was on the first time, and off the second time. Sport mode was also engaged the second time.
Looking in the manual at the warning light section, there's nothing listed for this combination. All similar combinations said 'vehicle electronics failure'.
The SZL module has already been replaced several months ago. It's an '07 Cooper S with automatic transmission, and the brake fluid level looked good.
Anything I can check for, or is it a job for the dealer? Also, should it have stored the codes even though there's no lights on now?
Thanks for any help.

Check the sensor cables to your front wheels. My wiring harness in the front left wheel came loose once while doing a sharp left-hand turn and ABS, TPMS, DSC and Brake warning lights all came on. That might be the issue. Good luck.
When brake fluid is not completely full, you can get odd combinations of warning lights which are not articulated in the manual.
Save yourself a trip to the dealer, and check the fluid level. If it is midway between full and low, fill it.
Take it from someone who wasted a day at the dealer.
