Amber gear icon showing... sometimes
Yesterday I stopped by Vista MINI to let them know about MINI USA buying back my '08 MCS and what to do next but the Sales Manager and my MA were both off on Friday.I should have a better idea some time next week.
JCR1960, can you point me in the direction of the thread that addresses your issues? I know I've seen it but my brain is too full of threads to remember where yours is. That said, good work!
MJB, I hear you about the 2 feet of snow...if the roads are plowed, stay home or get that sled and dog team harnessed up!

We live like 70 miles south of Buffalo so we are not directly in the snow belt area but we still get our fair share of lake effect. The area around Franklinville and Ellicottville seems to usually get more but there are times when we get more than them so you never know for sure. I have a feeling we are in for a rough winter good thing we have a Dodge Durango to get through the snow.
This isn't the full list of problems on my '08 MCSa but the reason for the buy back from MINI USA.

I hope that helps some.
There will be good days when you can finally take some pictures of your new Mini so not to worry.
The shifter interlock on the automatics is a widely known problem to BMW/MINI. My Clubman did this repeatedly for 2 months after I picked it up. The dealer replaced the entire shift linkage assembly, including the interlock mechanism, which was the problem. No problems since. If you have this problem, insist on having the interlock solenoid and shift assembly replaced. MINI USA is well aware of this problem.

Hey fellow Week 13'er (ya think it had anything to do with the week
)! I just caught up with this thread and I'm sorry to hear what happened with your original, but happy that they put you in an '09!However, we're still missing a small piece of critical info here...did you go with the checkerboard again ??!?!??

yes I went with the checkerboard it is identical to my 2008 just a 2009 with Dynamic Stability Control with no extra charge. The only thing we had to pay for was title and registration which was $167
Very nice MJB
. DSC became standard equipment with MY09 going forward, so good for you. You went through a lot but hopefully having a brand new '09 with 0 miles on the odometer, DSC and a fresh new start will make up for all of the stuff you went through previously

Something tells me the puppy won't get any road time in the Coop until he is properly house trained
So far, so good though. You know what they say about lightning hitting twice - I have a good feeling you'll be happily motoring in your 09 for the long term. And it's always good to hear that there are dealers out there that still treat problems the proper way.

I hope you are right I think this one will not cause me any problems, unlike my new puppy
but I certainly do love him.

Wow! I forget exactly where you live...is it "lake effect" or are you not that far up?
