If any one has a a filter out of the car could you please reply back with the exact dimensions of the outer sealing lip edge?

Cooper or MCS?

 

Measured at the outermost rubber sealing lip, the Cooper (non-S) is 211mm long x 166mm wide.
If needed, the dimesions of the filter that fits into the lower housing of the airbox are; 205mm long x 155mm wide. Measurements taken off a an OEM Mahle oiled paper filter.

 

The rubber gasket is a little truncated. the top edge measures
212x162mm, but it tapers out to 218x168mm over its 8mm
height. The filter is 33mm high (8 gasket and 25 filter itself)
and measures 203x153mm. This is the Mahle Hennex #180203
that came with my Mini Cooper.

Zappa, are you going to get amsoil to make a MC air filter?

Yes, I am trying. They are in the process of introducing a new filter material and as they are reproducing the older ones in the new style, they will look at running a new size once it's finished. I just wanted to compare the Cooper filter size with existing first. If amsoil was going to make one they would need a filter box which I may be able to barrow one locally.
