oil change woes
Alright i changed my own oil, do not try this at home!
well anywho after two hours and lots of swearing, i got the filter back on. filled it up with 4.7 quarts of mini synthetic, fired her up, and my oil light is on!?
It goes out at about 2000 rpms, but comes back on at idle
after a long day like day today this is not what I need! please somebody give me some good advice as to what I should do.
I torqued the oil filter canister to 18ft lbs like it says, and gave the drain plug a good crank, tightened the filler cap, and doublechecked everything, so I am at a loss.
cheers, jason

Hate to say this, but you may want to pull your filter again and check it. It sounds like there may be a partial restriction somewhere not allowing the pressure to build up enough under 2000 rpm.
Good luck!
Good luck!
I changed mine in my driveway. I used a set of ramps I bought at K Mart, a 17 mm socket, a shallow 3/8” drive 36 mm socket (a special tool designed for changing oil on old Mercedes diesels), a ratchet and drain pan. Total job took maybe 15 minutes and I was not rushing the job. The secret to installing the new oil filter is to press in on the oil filter canister and the engine first before trying to screw the canister back on. The two holes on the filter need to be “sized” first as they are a very tight fit. One other little tip, before you remove the oil filter loosen the canister first to the point that the seal is broken and allow the oil to drain out of the canister through the engine into your drain pan. I didn’t spill a drop of oil during the whole change.
